Memoirs & Meditations Weekend Writer’s Workshop on the Potomac River
April 6 – 8, 2018!

writer's retreat meditations memoirs potomac river

Much like Thoreau, all writers need time away to stare at the water and feel the grip of inspiration. Thoreau spent his time on Walden Pond, musing over the Bhagavad Gita and a myriad of other philosophical concepts. We don’t have a pond… we have an entire river. We’re not alone… we’re in this together!
“I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately,” Thoreau writes, “to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.”
In this writer’s retreat, we will be getting a lot more personal, and much less existential. Memoirs & Meditations will provide the time, tools, and encouragement for anyone who has a memoir that needs to be written. No matter where you are in the process of writing your memoir, family history, or biography, you will find the time and grace during this retreat to move your story to the next level.
This weekend retreat will take place on the Potomac River, hidden behind the newly green, spring foliage. The authors and writers will enjoy time together to discuss their memoirs and experiences, culminating in the understanding of the next steps to take to publish their memoir.

This weekend writer’s retreat includes:

  • 2-night stay in a cabin on the Potomac River (sleeps 10).
  • Vegetarian meals Friday night through Sunday morning.
  • Group writing, editing, and publishing sessions/exercises.
  • Yoga and meditation.

$699 total cost, excluding travel to and from retreat space and any extras.
